DJAKOVO STUDFARM

Đakovačka ergela The Djakovo Studfarm was founded by Bosnia-Sirmia bishops on their properties in Djakovo, wich were given to them as gift in 1239 by Coloman, King of Croatia and Hungary. This gift-deed was confirmed in 1244 by King Bela IV.
It is the oldest institution for breeding and selection in the Republic of Croatia. Djakovo Studfarm today holds exceptionally valuable genetic material, which, combined with successful selection repairs the population of Lippizaner horse breed. Such valuable breeding material is also a cultural asset for Croatia, with which we show the world that our ancestors managed to preserve and improve the state of horse-breeding through many years of work on breeding of horses.

BIZOVAČKE SPA

Bizovačke topliceHere in Bizovac, in the rich plains of Slavonia, in the gentle place surrounded by fields of wheat, sunflower and maize, the long lost Panonian Sea surfaces.
Water springs from the depth of almost 2,000 meters - a gift of the Nature, clean and intact for thousands of years. Salty almost as the Adriatic Sea, exceptionally rich in minerals, warmer than any other known thermal water (96 degrees Celsius on the surface).

WINE ROADS AND WINE-GROWING DISTRICTS

Vinske ceste In the fertile plains where wine grape is cultivated for thousands of years, and it is known that this has been going on since the Roman times, the Wine RoadS exists and persists; row of wine-makers and wine-merchants compete whose drop of wine is more noble, healthy and potent. The most famous are Baranja Wine-growing District, Djakovo Wine-growing District, Erdut Wine-growing District and Fericanci Wine-growing District.
It can be felt that vine is given great significance, and it gets especially festive on the St. Vincent's Day in second half of January... we are inviting you to come and taste it...

HUNTING AND FISHING

The county has a rich hunting tradition, especially on the big game, and today it can offer high trophy game in open hunting-grounds (deer, wild boar, roe deer), and in enclosed hunting-grounds (fallow deer, mouflon).
